Arlyn Bonfield, founder of Biomedical Media, has been working in biomedical communications since 1975. Before founding the company in 1986, her experience included four years designing instructional media for the Cambridge University School of Clinical Medicine in England, and six years as a Scriptwriter/Producer/Director in the Television Department, Massachusetts General Hospital. Prior to that she taught science to junior high school students and was a Genetic Research Assistant at the University of Iowa.

Specializing in the communication of complex medical information, Arlyn has written and produced numerous award winning television programs and multimedia projects in health and medicine. A Past-President of the Health and Science Communications Association (HeSCA), she has spoken at numerous professional meetings and led many workshops on various aspects of medical media production. She recently received the Golden Raster, Lifetime Achievement Award award from the Health and Science Communications Association (HeSCA) for numerous contributions to the association. Arlyn has a BS in Science Education from Syracuse University and an MS in Broadcast Communications from Boston University.

Elizabeth Coolidge-Stolz, M.D. was a resident in internal medicine at New England Deaconess Hospital (Boston) with the goal of specialization in hematology and oncology. After an accident ended her clinical career, she made the transition to medical publishing. Although not by design, Elizabeth has moved from a goal of academic medicine to satisfying work as a medical educator: She has written materials for audiences ranging from physicians to sales representatives to school students. In each case, her aim is the same: to make the underlying science accessible, appealing, and accurate.

Elizabeth worked for the New England Journal of Medicine and Little Brown Medical Books. She has been self-employed as a medical writer since 1994 and works with Biomedical Media as both a writer and consultant for a variety of projects. She has an M.D. from Pennsylvania State University College of Medicine and a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College (magna cum laude with Honors in Biology).
